Local Internet Marketing Benefits
Most people don’t realize what local internet marketing is, so they don’t know of local internet marketing benefits. According to SEO glossary the definition is: “Internet marketing geo-targeted through directories, Google maps, and social networking sites.” In other words LI marketing is marketing a local business to your local community using internet. With that being said you can glimpse the local internet marketing benefits, but let’s go over them just in case.
The first of local internet marketing benefits is in fact the purpose of LI marketing, getting targeted traffic that converts. Let’s use an example, if you own a shop in Minnesota and a website about your shop in Minnesota, what will you benefit if you target Washington? To get your business off the ground and visitors to your site you need to target visitors from Minnesota, and the greatest part is that it is much easier to optimize a site and get targeted traffic for local websites than for global ones, makes sense.
The three top LI marketing benefits are:
- Low cost
- Easier to market
- Targeted market that easily converts
We already covered one of the LI marketing benefits, targeted traffic that converts; let’s go onto the next one, low cost. The reason for a lower cost is the fact that it is easier to market and as such it involves less work for SEO companies, fewer work hours and an overall easier SEO and SEM campaigns.
The part about being easier to market should be obvious, there are fewer searches and less competition for a keyword that says “Los Angeles Website Design” than for “Website Design”. The difference would be by three numbers at least, instead of millions of searches there will be thousands, which is much easier to optimize and rank for, thus making this the greatest of local internet marketing benefits.
Since it will cost you less, you will get the targeted traffic that converts and you will get it fast, the easy part, you can consider these local internet marketing benefits to be of great value to any business. To make sure that you get all of these LI marketing benefits you must make sure that the SEO company running your campaign does the following:
- Get your website listed in local search engines. It is good for local searches performed, they equal highly targeted organic traffic and higher conversion rates and plus the major search engines depend on local search engines to feed their index.
- Make sure that your website and your business are connected with others on local level through social media sites like Twitter, Facebook and Stumble Upon.
- Perform an email marketing campaign on a local level.
These are some of the local internet marketing benefits, but just these are so great that they Should not be overlooked if you are a local business that you want to promote. It quickly one of the biggest ways to increase your organic traffic, and not just any traffic but targeted traffic.
Internet Marketing – NicheQuest
People are often stumped by what niche to choose when they’re new to Internet marketing. They just freeze up because the task seems so huge. But they don’t see that very important part of business. It has to be something that you enjoy and that fascinates you. If you’re not doing what you love, then, why bother, right?
So, then what? These are some ways to jump into a great Internet marketing niche:
What in the past 10 years have you been fascinated by? Is it RC Cars? Or maybe scrapbooking? But are they good niches? Maybe they are, but the whole thing is to come up with some things that you love or that fascinate you. What are your hobbies?
Take a trip to the library and walk up and down the stacks, looking at the book titles. What was the first book that interested you enough to pick it up? Could it be your niche? If not, keep walking. You’re certain to find something that you’ll enjoy.
If all else fails, give yourself a suggestion when you go to sleep at night. Say to yourself, “What is my Internet marketing niche?” and go to sleep. When you awaken, you may have that answer. This works with solving any kind of problem. You may not have the answer on the tip of your tongue, but your subconscious brain might. You just have to tell your brain to retrieve it.
But you shouldn’t settle on just one Internet marketing niche. Come up with 5 – 10 possibilities, and then research them. Go to SEOBook.com and plug very general keywords into the Google Traffic Estimator tool and see what happens. If you try “nutrition,” for example, you’ll see that you could get between about 3,500 and 4,500 AdWords clicks per day. That’s pretty strong, meaning it’s a good Internet marketing niche. On the other hand, if you plug in “lynxes,” it’s too specific and probably won’t be a very good niche because it will only bring you one click per day. The trends could choose the niche for you.
Coming up with a great Internet marketing niche shouldn’t be that tough. Just don’t let yourself be stopped by it. No matter where you choose to start, you’re probably going to change it down the road anyway, or you’ll work in more than one niche. Remember that you won’t get a single thing accomplished, unless you make a decision.

Internet Marketing Tips for Customers
Internet marketing has had a burst in the past few years. It appeared almost three decades ago, being the invention of entrepreneurial people, with an innovative spirit; people who wanted to leave the busy offices, short deadlines for projects and angry bosses in favor of the privacy of their homes.
How does it work? Well, the answer is very simple. A person who has a business idea creates a website. The website presents the business: items that can be bought (goods or services), details about these items, information regarding the price, delivery or refund.
Customers have to be with their eyes wide opened when they decide to do some online shopping. If you are a new customer, there are a few things you need to know. First of all, don’t shop from the first website you find. Use a search engine. Search engines are tools that help the internet users find online database.
Customer service is the most important thing for most of the people when they shop. It is available on the internet too. Customer service still has to work, it doesn’t matter that the shopping is done into an online environment. Do not accept rudeness. It is your money sellers are looking for and you expect instead a quality service. Refunds must be available on any serious website. Do not be afraid; do not hesitate to ask for these refunds.
You can face a situation in which the objects purchased can be delivered in a damaged state. Make sure that you receive your money back or another object. It should be your choice.
Look for offers. The first website you visit is not the only one. There are thousands of websites, each with its own offers and prices. A good website always tracks the competition’s offers and updates its own offers. Take advantage of this. You will see that it is worth it. Enter websites that provide enough information about the objects they sell. One that has information that you need to search in nooks is not reliable.
As a loyal customer of some website, do not accept e-mails if you don’t want to. There are websites that create loyal customers lists. When in such a list, you can receive spams or e-mails containing information about the new objects they provide or offers. They can be useful, but as a loyal customer, it is clear that you enter the website whenever you need something. You don’t need them to announce you that it is high time to do it. It is one of their strategies to persuade people buy different items. You might not even need the item.
Even if you are a loyal customer or just a person who wants to try the experience of online shopping, it is important to know that a series of services are at your disposal to help you in the process. Use them to help you; they will keep you away of any unwanted situations.
Good luck shopping!

There are informational websites offering instructional articles and success stories, message boards offering a place for those involved or interested in the industry to share information or ask questions and commercial websites offering ebooks, classes and other instructional services for a fee.
Websites which have informative articles may provide a great deal of information for visitors but care should be taken to verify the information obtained online. Internet marketing is a business that can earn you a lot of money but when you do not know how to organize your downline, energy, time and money properly then internet marketing can be extremely annoying. The failure rate for internet marketing is 97% because most internet marketers are impatient and are only thinking about the big money.
If you surf the web a lot then you’ve probably seen the “get rich in no time” banners trying to get people to make some quick bucks and let’s be honest you and I both know that stuff doesn’t work. I’m pretty sure you’ve also seen stories about people making like $5000-$10,000 within their first couple of months. Now I’m not saying that’s impossible but trusts me when I say this, it’s REALLY rare.
- The top earners in the internet marketing industry are people who work towards longevity rather than short term. In order to make it in this industry you have to be consistent and make sure you have something to do every day.
- A big part of being successful is creating your own products. Throughout my career I’ve learned that you can’t depend on anyone for your success. It’s up to you to make sure you are in control of your online marketing journey every step of the way.
- A big key to online success is MANAGING YOUR TIME efficiently. You need to manage your work load so you can focus on specific tasks, you need to manage your downline so you can help them build their downline.
- Speaking of downlines, you have to build a list of people that are targeted prospects. These are people that are already interested in your niche market that are willing to buy your product or service.

Masters in Internet Marketing
It sounds so impressive, doesn’t it? If I told you I had a Masters degree in online marketing, you would probably think I am one smart cookie.
One day I ran across this link that said “Get your masters in internet marketing.” And since I teach internet marketing strategies, I was intrigued, so I investigated. Sure enough, there are degrees offered online that allow a person to get a formal education in internet marketing. You must have a bachelor’s degree to get into the Masters program.
The coursework is intense and involves learning every aspect of marketing online. Here is a sample of the classes offered:
Media Research and Research Methodologies
Internal Marketing and Web Search Optimization
New Media Marketing Analysis
Business Storytelling and Brand Analysis
Advanced Internet Marketing Strategies
Web Design for Search Engine Optimization
Internet Consumer Behavior and Analysis
Advanced Search Engine Optimization
Strategic Internet Public Relations
Web Metrics and Analysis
Internet and the Law
Internet Marketing Campaign Development
Email Marketing
Mobile Marketing
Persuasion Marketing
The main course I reviewed was a one year program and each class is four weeks long. The price is around $18,000.
Here are some places that one might work with this kind of experience:
o New Media & Digital Media Agencies
o Advertising Agencies
o E-Business & E-Commerce Companies
o Companies providing Online Marketing related Products and Services
o Corporate Employers recruiting for In-House Online Marketing related jobs
o Search Engine Marketing & Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Firms
These jobs pay in the salary range of $25,000 to $50,000 range once you’ve finished school.
Some of the other courses I looked at were around $745 for one class.
Wait! There are online marketing coaches for much less.
Now, there are a lot of “Online Marketing Coaches” on the internet who are offering these kinds of classes for much less. You wouldn’t earn a degree of course, but it’s kind of like going to school. You still have to listen, take notes, practice and apply what you’re learning. It is interesting how the internet has spawned so many careers with the activity that goes on daily in marketing, promotion, sales, information marketing, etc. Surely you can get a fantastic education for very little money if you are self-taught for the most part.
I know one millionaire mom who doesn’t have a bachelor’s degree, is completely self-taught and became successful by reading, applying, doing, fixing, studying, practicing and doing all the things it takes to master the art of online marketing. The best thing is that she works for herself and not a corporate entity.
Go to School!
There will be times you will need to hire someone to teach you something. However, if you set aside the time and “go to school” yourself by researching, reading, practicing and applying what you learn, you can be of great value to small and large businesses alike. I think it’s good to investigate the many options out there for getting an education in online marketing. If you’re considering paying for some kind of online education, examine the value of what you will be getting, how much time you have to “go to school”, and what you hope to do with your education.
The internet is one of the most powerful marketing tools out there today. If you can master the skills needed through online education, you will be marketable for sure. My point is that you probably don’t need to spend $18,000 to get a master’s degree, but you To roll up your sleeves and work hard to learn what the owner will need to know.
Internet Marketing Glossary
Learn a New Language. Internet Marketing!
When I started playing poker a few years back, I found myself bewildered at the terminology used by players. Terms like All-In and trips were confusing enough, but when it came to live straddles, split pots and crying calls, I was lost.
Now you’re probably think “why is this guy going on about poker in an article about internet marketing?” Well, the same applies to internet marketing too. Like poker, and most things really, internet marketing has it’s own language, hundreds of terms and abbreviations to describe common practices or systems in internet marketing. In this article, I’m going to explain some of the more common ones.
IM - Short for Internet Marketing.
Joint Ventures – A joint venture, or JV for short, is the coming together of two marketers to promote a product or service. For example, Marketer A has a product he wishes to sell, and Marketer B has a mailing list that she thinks may be interested in A’s product. They could conduct a joint venture, where B tells her mailing list about A’s product, and sales made from that mailing list are split between the two marketers, usually on a 50-50 basis.
Mailing List – Often referred to as a subscriber list or an opt-in list, this is a group of people who have given a marketer permission to email them with their newsletter/ezine, or perhaps just with special offers and gifts. Subscribers usually opt-in through a web form, then confirm their subscription at their email address. Once users have opted in, the list owner will be able to e-mail them, and it wouldn’t be considered spam as they have agreed to be emailed. Users can choose to opt-out of the mailing list at any time, many marketers have an opt-out link at the bottom of their emails.
EBook – An ebook is an electronic book, written by someone and sold online, or perhaps given away. They can be written on a range of things, from How to Breed Fish all the way to How to Make Money Online. Ebooks have become so popular amongst marketers because they are relatively simple to create. They can be written as a text file word and converted to pdf, or even written as a program, or exe file. Also, because Ebooks are digital, there is no delivery cost and there is an unlimited supply.
Niche Marketing – Niche marketing refers to marketing within a specific niche, or topic. They will identify a niche that are profitable, and target the group of customers related to that niche. Niche marketing includes the building of niche sites, small sites dedicated to a niche which has been chosen, often because it can be profitable through PPC advertising on the page, such as Google Adsense.
Affiliate Marketing – Affiliate marketing is the marketing of products through an affiliate system, such as Clickbank, Commission Junction or Clickbooth. It is a way to get others to market your product for you, directing people to your sales page, by offering them a commision on each sale that they make, usually around 50-60%, but sometimes even more.
SEO – SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, and it is used to drive more traffic to a site by making it search engine friendly.
PPC – Pay per click, or PPC, advertising is a form of internet advertising where the advertiser pays a certain cost for each click of their advert. The largest example of a pay per click site is Google adwords, which produce the advertisements running along the right hand side of every Google search.
CPA/PPA - Cost per action (CPA) or Pay per Action (PPA) is another form of online marketing, similar to PPC. However, instead of paying per click, the advertiser pays a preset fee every time a certain action occurs. This action can vary from program to program, from the customer clicking the submit now button on a web form, to the sale being completed.
Obviously these are only a few of the many terms that are used around the internet marketing community, but scanning over different sites, these were the ones that jumped out at me as things that ought to be known when delving into the world of
